SHARLA P. KLINGEL Of Counsel

Ms. Klingel practices in the areas of corporate and general business law, including nonprofit and for-profit entity formations, nonprofit legal compliance and governance, and real estate law and transactions. Ms. Klingel has significant experience related to nonprofit governance and counseling, including three years instructing the Nonprofit Clinic at the University of Virginia School of Law. In this role, Ms. Klingel lectured on all aspects of nonprofit law and governance, including federal tax requirements, state corporation requirements, and nonprofit best practices.
Prior to that, Ms. Klingel was an associate with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in Washington, DC, where she focused on large-scale military housing privatization and commercial real estate transactions.

Ms. Klingel has worked and volunteered in a variety of civic and service agencies, including representing children as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and as a Guardian Ad Litem for children in Virginia. She has served and held leadership roles on numerous boards of directors, and currently serves on the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association board of directors and the Stillwater Yacht Club board of directors.
