Mr. Karachale is one of the founding members of the firm and has been a member since 1973.

His practice includes the following:

Business Organizations and Transactional Law

Mr. Karachale has thirty-five years of experience in the formation of business entities, including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. Mr. Karachale has significant experience in representing physicians and medical groups and various physician organizations, including ambulatory surgery centers. He currently represents in excess of one hundred Monterey County physicians and medical groups. His practice also involves real estate transactions, including dispositions, and transactions involving tax deferrals.

Employee Benefits

Mr. Karachale has represented clients in ERISA matters since the enactment of ERISA in 1974. Mr. Karachale has the most extensive employee benefits practice in Central California involving both qualified and nonqualified retirement plan issues faced by for-profit and non-profit private employers and governmental entities. He currently represents two of the largest employee plan administration companies in the area and has extensive experience in representing employers before the U.S. Department of Labor (EBSA) and the Internal Revenue Service, including National Office ruling matters and federal court proceedings. Representative reported ERISA cases are Rodrigues v. Herman (9th Cir. 1997) 121 F.3d 1352 and Bowles v. Reade (9th Cir. 1999) 198 F.3d 752.

Federal and State Tax Matters

Mr. Karachale has been certified under the State Bar Tax Specialization Program for over twenty-five years and has extensive experience in representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and the Franchise Tax Board, including appeals and U.S. Tax Court matters.
